The AI-Driven Educators Academy (AIDEA) redefines how artificial intelligence (AI) is integrated into European teacher education. Unlike fragmented or generic AI training programs, AIDEA unifies, scales, and operationalizes cutting-edge research from leading Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe projects, ensuring immediate classroom applicability.
AI is not just a tool but a catalyst for pedagogical transformation, supporting teaching and learning. AIDEA introduces a modular, research-backed training framework, moving beyond traditional teacher training by structuring AI education across three essential dimensions: (1) Teaching About AI, ensuring educators develop deep AI literacy and ethical awareness; (2) Teaching With AI, equipping teachers with AI-powered skills for formative assessment, adaptive learning, and classroom innovation; and (3) Teaching For AI, preparing students for an AI-driven future through critical thinking and digital competencies. A powerful European consortium of universities, teacher education institutions, research centres, and policymakers ensures sustainability, policy alignment, and large-scale adoption. Through high-impact pilots across 150+ schools, training 3000+ teachers, and embedding AI into national education strategies, AIDEA pioneers a transformative, ethical, and pedagogically sound approach to AI integration in schools.
