Participation of the Computer Technology Institute and Press "Diophantus", in the EduTech Summit & Expo 2025

Michalis Paraskevas, professor at the University of the Peloponnese and Vice President of CTI "Diophantus", participated as a speaker at the round table entitled "Online Education - Challenges and Opportunities", organized within the framework of the EduTech Summit & Expo 2025 conference and exhibition (April 11-12, 2025, Zappeion Megaron, Athens).

During his presentation, he discussed the great opportunities offered by online education, as well as the key challenges that need to be resolved, such as addressing digital inequalities, enhancing student engagement, reshaping pedagogical methods and the importance of teacher training.
He also referred to the main technological trends that influence the future of education, such as the use of Artificial Intelligence, the adoption of hybrid learning models, the use of gamification and virtual/augmented reality techniques, as well as the development of educational policy based on data (learning analytics) and the dissemination of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and MOOCs.
He also presented the design and implementation of an integrated ecosystem for the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in school education, which is being developed by CTI "Diophantus" and focuses on:

  • In School Career Guidance, through an innovative digital platform that uses machine learning, to provide personalized suggestions to students and families regarding the students' inclinations.
  • The creation of Education Innovation Centers in all regions of the country, which promote creative thinking through the use of AR/VR, STEM and Artificial Intelligence technologies and the connection between school - society - market.
  • The development of a chatbot with advanced artificial intelligence techniques (LLMs), Hellenized and integrated into the Greek School Network (GSN), which will support users of the GSN services.
  • The integration of Artificial Intelligence into the community of the emblematic European action eTwinning, through educational actions of various types and forms, the dissemination of pedagogically documented practices and the support of the new role of teachers.

Finally, he referred to other innovative actions of CTI "Diophantus", such as the platform for the integrated management of the training of the unemployed and employed, which is widely used by the Public Employment Service and the stop-bullying.gov.gr platform for addressing school violence and bullying, which operates on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports.
EduTech Summit & Expo is a major two-day event combining an exhibition and a conference, dedicated to educational technology and the infrastructure of educational units of all levels. It aims to inform and raise awareness among education professionals about modern technological solutions and developments in the field of teaching.
The participation of CTI "Diophantus" in the EduTech Summit & Expo 2025 highlighted the Institute's role as an innovation agency in educational technology, with actions that bridge theoretical research with practice and shape the future of digital education in Greece.
